Want a laptop battery that will maintain its Capacity ?

Hp is your answer to the solution. HP will begin offering a Notebook battery that will maintain its capacity over three 3 years and would recharge much faster that the traditional batteries. The new Green battery will be provided by Boston Power and will be available in 2009.

HP will be offering these " Sonata " batteries as the "Enviro” Series, and they have a good chance to become a popular accessory, if the technology can keep its promise.

Boston Powers will be giving 3 years warranty with its batteries which is the longest notebook battery warranty we are aware of. Other than traditional lithium-ion batteries, which typical give up capacity and over their life, the Sonatas will not, at least not for three years, the manufacturer claims.

The fact that we users do not have to replace our batteries “is good for the environment,” The company also claims that the batteries can be recharged to 80% of their capacity in just 30 minutes.

There is still no use of how expensive these batteries will be and and how much capacity will they have.

Mac users can purchase Sonata batteries already today through accessory company Quickertek, which has been selling an external battery based on this technology for the Macbook and Macbook Pro for some time now. Quickertek claims that the external battery provides about eight to twelve hours of extra battery life for Apple notebooks.
